Writing 201: Poetry. Today’s assignment is to write and ode. I keep saying this course is challenging because it is. There’s nothing like a good brain exercise in the morning!
Map. Ode. Metaphor
My heart is filled with irreplaceable love
A love only one could give
A bond only two can share
A relationship shaped by trials and tribulations
Donning the cloak of perseverance
This love, this love
Washes the fear of failure
Increases belief in hopes and dreams
Comforts the weary in distress
Gives peace to a disquieted soul
Love is strength
A genuine smile in the midst of adversity
Firmly affirming other’s ambitions
Guiding them in life’s journey
A compass to the treasures of the heart
Oh love, how I love your loving arms
The comfort of your hugs
Wrapped around me like the warm sun
Oh love, how I love your giving ways
Selfless acts of kindness
So much love I could never repay
To love, I say I love you
Everything that encompasses love
I am
Love is my mother
