Good Saturday morning!!!
It has been approximately two months since I started writing. I never knew that I had this gift. Especially for poetry. However, I love that God has blessed me with words, thoughts, and truth. When I started my blog I did not think a lot of people would really keep up with it. I usually weigh in on controversial subjects on everyone’s (not everyone’s) favorite social media site.
Facebook.
After having long, sometimes heated, discussions about certain issues, I decided to start a blog in hopes of giving a fresh perspective to the world. I’m positive my opinion on some matters is shared by others. So, I’m not trying to be original. I am trying to start conversation in a positive manner. If we can start a discussion about major issues, then maybe we can understand another’s point of view. As long as it does not affect how I carry myself.
I will hold fast to my convictions.
For those that read my writing, you will see I won’t compromise. I’m like this because I serve the Lord. He is not one to compromise His position which is truth.
Throughout my blogging journey, I’ve touched some pretty taboo subjects. I have gotten chewed (and applauded) about a piece on racism. One has expressed that I write so everyone can understand my position. Well, I try. However, not everyone is going to understand my position or feel included. I can’t help that. I write so that those that read will think. This has happened to me on occasion. I encounter a conversation and I walk away reviewing my actions. Self-inspection is never a bad thing unless you’re consistently second guessing yourself. In short, I want to treat people right. Now, that doesn’t always mean adhering to their every quirk. You cannot please everyone. It does mean I will do right by you.
It also means I will tell you the truth.
With that being said, I want to say one thing to my readers.
Thank You!!!
I truly appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read my blog. I hope it makes you laugh, ponder social issues, and inspires you to be a better person. I know you will not read every post (I’m past 50 posts now guys!!), and that’s okay. I hope you enjoy what you read. AND I hope you feel free to discuss the subjects with me. I want to take time to respond to your comments. After all, this is about starting a discussion, and talking about truth.
Have a beautifully, blessed morning!!
Jarrod
