Bleh.. Blah.. Meh..
It’s that time of year to curl up with a good book and some hot chocolate. Or in my case, eat some ramen noodles, a chicken pot pie, and drink some orange juice. Winter is here, and it’s freezing outside. It’s cold in my apartment even with my space heater on. I’m sleepy. My body is tired. I even skipped the gym. What’s wrong with me?
The sickness is trying to grip me.
Oh, yes, that ugly sickness. The stuff that comes and makes you long for the comforts of your bed, a stack of pillows, and the fetal position. It’ll grip your chest. Maybe it starts with your throat. Then comes the runny noses, coughs, sore muscles (not from the gym), congestion, and an overall sense of bleh. It comes around generally when frigid temps grace our presence. North Dakota is no stranger to cold climates (understatement), wind chill warnings, and snow storms. You better wrap up good, otherwise winter will run it’s chilly finger down the middle of your spine causing you to run for the comfort of anywhere warm. I’ve seen people run around in gym shorts and jackets when it’s this cold. Sometimes I’m guilty of that, but not this time. I’m armed with my pea coat, beanie, gloves, and scarf.
Yet, the sickness is still trying to grip me.
I gotta kick this stuff. So, it’s time to turn to a orange juice, hot soup (roasted chicken ramen for me), tea/lemon juice/honey, and a nice amount of rest.
I guess means I need to turn the TV off and go to bed. Buuuuuuuuuuut……
Wrestling is on.
